Coach Clay

This blog is where I write out loud about the things I’ve been thinking, seeing, hearing and reading. You can think of it as a sort of first draft of what is currently percolating through my mind.

I am a writer, speaker, and coach; former U.S. Army Infantry Officer, a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, and a graduate of the United States Military Academy, West Point.

The Flower in the Desert

I received a  very special book yesterday by an up and coming author named Neil del Strother.  The book is called The Flower in the Desert.  It is an allegorical tale about the gift of friendship and love.  I read the book in one sitting and was captivated by the tale from start to finish.  Neil is a natural storyteller, his language is pure, simple and powerful.  The Flower in the Desert is one of those books that you can read over and over again and find new meanings hidden in the many metaphors crafted into the story.  If you enjoyed reading The Alchemist, you’ll like Neil del Strother’s The Flower in the Desert.

I’ve been in touch with Neil to see if he would agree to an interview and he has.  So stay tuned.  I think Neil has a powerful message that needs to be heard.
